I. Transportation to Moc Chau from Hanoi

1. Riding a motorbike
You would follow Thang Long Avenue, turn left to Xuan Mai along Highway 6 to Hoa Binh. Near the center of Hoa Binh, there is a road sign up to Son La. Follow up the Cun slope, and go straight along Highway 6 to Cao Phong, and from here, just go straight on the road. On the way, you will have to go through Thung Khe, which is an amazing point so you could stop for a while to take photos. This is a beautiful place not to be missed on the way to Moc Chau.

II. When should you travel to Moc Chau?

1. Ngu Dong Ban On (Ngu cave in the On commune)

1. Buffalo meat hung in the kitchen
Kitchen buffalo meat is a specialty of Thai people in Moc Chau. 3. Suoi Bang snail (Snails of Bang stream)
Bang stream snail is a specialty of Moc Chau because of its delicious tast which is different from the ordinary snails. To Moc Chau, you should order Bang stream stone snail with motel or restaurant to enjoy the best fresh snail. Snails are processed in various ways, and the most common is to cook sour soup, make mango salad, or just simpply boiled with lemongrass.
4. Grilled stream fish
Moc Chau stream fish are usually not big, just by human fingers in size and have no fishy smelly taste. There are many ways to process Moc Chau stream fish, including frying, grilling, etc. Fried Moc Chau tream fish is golden, crispy, greasy and aromatic.
5. Moc Chau green mustard
Moc Chau mustard has bitterness but is a favorite dish of many tourists and a definite delicacy of locals. - Fresh milk, milk candy (all is very cheap and delicious). Remember to buy some Moc Chau milk candy as gifts for your family and friends. And do not miss the opportunity to taste the goat yogurt here.
- In the summer, you can buy plum and peach of Moc Chau. In particular, peach includes types such as French and cat peach. In addition, there are also cucumber, strawberry, avocado, and dried bamboo shoots.
- Another specialty is smoked buffalo (or beef). In the cold season, people in highland often kill buffaloes, then cut it in to very large pieces of meat, marinating through spices and hang up in the kitchen on stilts so that the smoke from the oven flying high will make it black and dry. Moc Chau people wiil leave it for about 8-12 months, bring it down, and process the meat like stewing or frying to eat. The price of smoked buffalo meat in Moc Chau is only VND 500k VND/kg while in Dong Van-Ha Giang it is VND 700-800k VND/kg.
